Trying to install UBUNTU onto a Vista laptop, not entirely sure how to do it.

I runing ubuntu 8.04 inside of wubi and I’ve don’t know anything about using ubuntu. Before I installed wubi I had only vista premium

Usually I use ubuntu, but I have recently accumulated a lot of files I have saved and so I partitioned my HD to c and D(storage), will the storage drive show up in ubuntu?

Hi. I’m planning on opening up an internet cafe in another country and really don’t want to pay to license 20 computers with microsoft. I recently found Ubuntu Linux and saw they distribute their operating system for free. How good is it compared to windows? How long does it take to learn? Does it run normal internet applications such as like Yahoo Chat, You Tube and Limewire? What kind of programs can you get that’s similar to Microsoft Office, etc. Basically anything and everything you can tell me about it. The most info. gets the 10 points. Thanks. :-)

Okay, I just installed ubuntu.

Now I am looking for ways to learn, especially on a dell laptop.

Any good newbie sites besides unbuntu’s forum for me to read?

And yes I know google, I just don’t know any keywords that’s all.

I’m able to share a folder from Ubuntu through Samba, but no windows system is allowed to do anything but look at the folder. All systems are on the same subnet and same Workgroup.

I already downloaded the file but how do i put it on the cd. Do i just drag it in or do something special. If i download it onto another computer then put it onto a cd will it affect the computer that i downloaded it onto.
