I recently bought a used sony laptop, and someone had installed Ubuntu, and I can’t find a way to uninstall it, or should I overwrite it?
is there anyway i can install Ubuntu in windows NTFS partition without creating Linux partition? i mean some kind of virtual file system for Linux? in case of Puppy Linux it can be done. there a single file act as a drive where i can store all the data.. is it possible in case of Ubuntu? or any other way to install without messing with partition? thanks.
(Just saying, I’m a complete newbie to all this.) While I was installing Ubuntu, I was partitioning my Hard Drive when my computer died on me. (I was using a bootable disc of the latest copy of Ubuntu) So I booted off the disc again and was partitioning my hard drive, again. Ubuntu is installed and working but when I start up my computer, I have 2 options of Ubuntu to run from. How do I get rid of one?

So there was all this talk about how 8.10 will get a new theme? What happened? The latest beta still looks the same unless u count the new ugly desktop and login screen. So they didn’t keep their promise did they?
When I installed using the GFX card, Ubuntu didn’t recognize it. I had to unplug graphics card and use integrated graphics to get it to install. Where can I Find a linux driver for this card?
I was using XP before i install ubuntu. Now, i want to use XP again because there is a lot of things that do not work on Ubuntu.
