I am trying to update the latest version of Ubuntu Linux to the latest Linux kernel so I can use ndiswrapper. I am unsure how to install the kernel, however. How can I do this so I can get ndiswrapper running under Ubuntu?
Ok so I’m not sure if it’s actually called “extended desktop” but you know how in ubuntu you can move your mouse to the right and scroll over to another desktop? This is all on a single monitor. Is there anyway to do this in XP? It’s just so handy.

I have the Ubuntu 6.06 Live CD and I am very pleased with it. I have a couple of questions though.
1) I have gone to the Ubuntu Forums for help on changing the screen resolution. I did everything they told me and it didn’t work. I heard from someone that you have to install Ubuntu in order to change the screen resolution. Is this true?
2) Is it safe to install Ubuntu? Have you ever had any problems with Ubuntu?
I am using Ubuntu Linux version 6.06 Dapper Drake and I have a Linksys type WIFI card. I have drivers for Redhat linux and Windows but I still cannot get it to work with Ubuntu. I have spent enough hours on this and I finally decided to ask here. Ideas?
I am a power user with Windows, but now, in true geek style, I’m venturing towards Linux. So, I’ve installed the latest Ubuntu on my old laptop.
Now here’s the problem – I’m absolutely lost. How can I install TOR on Ubuntu? Could you walk me through it, from what to download up to the point where TOR is installed with the TOR button in Firefox? Thanks.
I went through all the downloading of drivers for my wireless card using ndiswrapper, extracted the firmware using bcm43xx-fwcutter and successfully cut the firmware so i can use the driver when i installed the application, but I still dont get any type of server list when i click the Network icon at the top right. What do i do now?
Also, to the guy that nerfed Ubuntu, what distribution would you recommend then?
I installed Ubuntu on my computer, but how do I get the drivers? I tried running my Drivers CD that came with my original OS (XP) but it wouldn’t run. It only shows the files and folders of the CD. I tried running some auto run programs, but they all give me an error.
Okay, I would like to have linux and Windows Vista both running on one machine. I DON’T want to get rid of Windows Vista, so what do I do after I download linux. I would also like to do the same with XP too.
And please NO bad mouthing about windows or windows vista. I happen to like Microsoft and Windows Vista and I DON’T want to get rid of it.
