Basically I wanna save flash and my fire fox addons onto my live cd. I have no hard drive right now, so im only using ubuntu 8.4 live cd. Is it possible?
Okay I used to have windows xp but i completly screwed it up and now i have ubuntu. So when i did have xp it came with the computer and i do have the disk but the product key wont work and i have gone as far as i can with the money i have to fix it. But it just wont work. So now all i want is to get ubuntu to recognize the things i have to download to connect to netgear.
Does the things that i download to connect to netgear recognize the software i have to install? can i translate the software to ubuntu?
This one i really need help on i need to use ubuntu to connect to the internet wirelessly to the router downstairs using the ubuntu os to recognize the software i have to install.
What do i search for in synaptics manager/?
Was curious if I could install Ubuntu on one computer, then pull the hard drive out and put it into another computer to use it?
Reason is the other computer doesn’t have a CD player or a floppy drive.
So just curious if anyone has tried this method, and if ubuntu does work or if it requires a lot of tinkering to get it running since it was installed one on machine and actually booting and running on another.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
I cant install ubuntu, its hopeless. I have a 256mb ram, so i have just given up! I heard you can install xubuntu directly off the cd, but how?
I just want the files of a boot disk to write to disk. Can I download those anywhere?
I have recently installed Ubuntu 7.04 dual booting with win xp. Ubuntu is working fine except for sounds. I cant here any sort of sound. The sound in Win XP is working fine. I tried suggestions from different forums and most of them are Greek to me. Can somebody help by telling me how to go about it in simple terms. Thanks in advance. The sound card is Via 8237
PS: I have my network connection working in Ubuntu.
