Yes I know about Ubuntu and have tried but I’d like to experiment with either Xandros or opensuse. So which one would you suggest?
I have a HP Pavilion Media Center PC a1520n and I want a dual boot system. I have a live Ubuntu 6.06 CD. I want to know how to make my PC a dual boot PC without messing up my Windows Operating system.

I am resurrecting this old notebook hoping that it will efficiently run Ubuntu or some other entry level Linux OS. The laptop currently is running Windows 98. Seems to only have 64 MB of memory. Is this feasible? What do I need to be aware of by way of warnings? Extra programs to make it run? Java?
I’ve used Red Hat at work and really like this small yet useful feature. Is there some configuration I need to tweak in order to get this feature in Ubuntu? Yes, I realize I can use “ls”, but I prefer the tab method.

I have an External hard drive that i have all my files in, and i recently installed Ubuntu on my comp. However whenever i plug in the hard drive through the usb drive, it says “cannot mount volume”. does anyone know any way around this?
I LOVE Linux and I have installed Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron on my Dell Inspiron 1420 (came with Windows Vista Home Premium). The Dell Ubuntu version has some extra tweaks, and I was wondering if I would get those if I reinstalled Ubuntu with a Dell Inspiron 1420n Ubuntu Reinstall DIsc. Is this possible?
Can you save programs and settings between sessions.
I am running XP as my primary operating system.
What I want to do is attach an external hard drive to the server and then have the server run a cron job at the end of each day zipping the database and storing it on the external hard drive. Is this possible?
